  • 1 lb beef flank steak, cut into thin strips
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, and cornstarch for the sauce.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Add beef strips to the skillet and cook until browned, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Add broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  3. Return the beef to the skillet, pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, and cook until the sauce thickens.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately with rice if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef in a tablespoon of the soy sauce mixture for 15 minutes before cooking.
