  • measuring spoons
  • knife

Method

Prepare the Beef:
  1. In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce; mix well and set aside.
  2. Allow the beef to marinate for at least 10 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.
Prepare the Sauce:
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch until smooth.
  2. Set the sauce aside, ready to be added to the stir-fry.
Cook the Stir-fry:
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the marinated beef to the hot skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned; remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet, then add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until crisp-tender.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli, then pour in the prepared sauce.
  5. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened and coats the beef and broccoli.
  6. Serve immediately over cooked rice and enjoy.

Notes

For extra spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. You can also substitute flank steak with sirloin or skirt steak. Ensure broccoli is not overcooked to maintain its crispness. Adjust soy sauce to taste, especially if using a low-sodium variety.
