Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or oven-safe pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, milk, bread crumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 cup ketchup, 1 teaspoon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Cooking
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet or pan.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the glaze ingredients: 1/2 cup ketchup, brown sugar, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon mustard. Spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then remove from the oven and spread the remaining glaze over the meatloaf.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a moister meatloaf, you can soak the bread crumbs in the milk for a few minutes before adding them to the mixture. Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your taste. This meatloaf is also great for meal prep and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
