  • 1.5 cups lemons freshly squeezed juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water

Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and 1 cup of cold water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves, then remove from heat.
  2. Pour the sugar syrup into a large pitcher. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the remaining 3 cups of cold water.
  3. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired, then chill thoroughly before serving.
  4. Serve over ice with lemon slices or mint sprigs for garnish, if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a few slices of ginger or a sprig of fresh mint to the pitcher while chilling. This lemonade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
