  • Well-draining soil
  • Juicer or blender
  • Fine-mesh sieve

Method

Growing Ginger, Lemon & Turmeric
  1. To grow ginger and turmeric, select healthy, plump roots with visible "eyes" or buds and plant them in a pot with drainage holes, covering them with about an inch of soil; keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
  2. For lemon, plant 2-3 seeds about half an inch deep in a small pot with drainage holes and well-draining soil, ensuring they are kept consistently moist and warm.
  3. Place your pots in a warm spot with bright, indirect sunlight, ensuring ginger and turmeric receive partial shade while lemon thrives in good sunlight.
  4. Once your plants have matured (ginger and turmeric in 8-10 months, lemon in 5-6 months), harvest a small portion of the root for your shot.
Making the Shot
  1. Using a juicer or blender, combine your freshly harvested ginger, turmeric, and lemon juice until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Add a pinch of black pepper, which helps enhance the absorption of curcumin from turmeric.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any pulp, if desired, and pour into shot glasses.

Notes

You can adjust the amount of ginger, lemon, and turmeric to your taste. For a sweeter shot, consider adding a touch of honey or maple syrup. Store any leftover shot in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
