  1. Gently wash and thinly slice one medium cucumber, discarding the ends or any bruised parts.
  2. Thoroughly rinse the fresh mint leaves under cold water, then pat them dry with a paper towel.
  3. In a pitcher or large jar, combine the sliced cucumber and mint leaves, gently muddling the mint to release its oils.
  4. Pour four cups of cold water over the cucumber and mint, ensuring both are fully submerged.
  5. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let the flavors meld for at least 30 minutes, or longer for a stronger taste.
  6. Before serving, remove the cucumber and mint leaves if desired, then pour into glasses over ice.

Notes

For an extra touch, you can add a squeeze of fresh lime juice or a few slices of lemon. You can also experiment with other herbs like basil or rosemary for different flavor profiles.
