Cooking Pasta
- Cook the linguine according to package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water.
- Before draining, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
Cooking Shrimp Scampi
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add shrimp and red pepper flakes, cooking for 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Pour in wine or broth and lemon juice, bringing the mixture to a simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
Combining and Finishing
- Add the cooked and drained linguine to the skillet with the shrimp sauce, tossing to combine.
- If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Stir in fresh parsley and serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
