Ingredients

Wet Ingredients
  • 3 medium Ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg, large
  • 1/4 cup Melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls (2)
  • Fork or potato masher
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk
  • Loaf pan (9x5 inch)
  • Oven
  • Wire rack

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan, or line with parchment paper for easy removal.
Mixing Wet Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher. Stir in the granulated sugar, egg, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
  1. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
Combine and Bake
  1. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix just until combined; be careful not to overmix the batter. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
  2. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. If the top Browns too quickly, you can loosely tent it with aluminum foil.
Cooling
  1. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be. Look for bananas with many brown spots. Feel free to add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips or chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor.
