Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan, or line with parchment paper for easy removal.
Mixing Wet Ingredients
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher. Stir in the granulated sugar, egg, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
Combine and Bake
- Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix just until combined; be careful not to overmix the batter. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. If the top Browns too quickly, you can loosely tent it with aluminum foil.
Cooling
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be. Look for bananas with many brown spots. Feel free to add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips or chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor.
