  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter or heat olive oil over medium heat, then add the finely chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and long-grain rice, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the rice is lightly toasted.
  3. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, add salt and pepper, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
  4. Remove from heat and let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a bay leaf or a pinch of saffron to the broth. Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley or toasted nuts before serving.
