  • 1 cup sour cream

Equipment

  • large bowl
  • whisk
  • serving spoon

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the drained pineapple chunks, drained mandarin oranges, and halved red grapes.
  2. Gently fold in the mini marshmallows and shredded coconut until evenly distributed.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sour cream and thawed whipped topping until smooth.
  4. Pour the creamy dressing over the fruit mixture and stir gently until everything is well coated.
Chilling and Serving
  1. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until thoroughly chilled.
  2. Before serving, garnish with halved maraschino cherries if desired.

Notes

For best results, prepare the salad a few hours in advance to allow the flavors to meld. You can also add other fruits like sliced bananas or halved strawberries, but add them just before serving to prevent browning. For a richer dressing, you can substitute some of the sour cream with cream cheese.
