Preparation
- In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to create the honey-garlic sauce.
- In a separate small bowl, combine cornstarch and water to create a slurry; set aside.
Cooking
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels; season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken thighs to the hot skillet and sear for 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Pour the honey-garlic sauce over the cooked chicken and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
Serving
- Garnish the honey garlic chicken with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately with rice or your preferred side dish.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken in half of the honey-garlic sauce for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the amount of garlic and chili flakes to your preference for a spicier kick.
