Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the crumbled cornbread, chopped celery, and chopped onion.
Mixing
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and lightly beaten eggs.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the cornbread mixture, then add the sage, thyme, salt, and black pepper; mix well until everything is evenly combined.
Baking
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
Serving
- Remove the dressing from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can sauté the celery and onion before adding them to the cornbread mixture. If you prefer a moister dressing, add an additional 1/2 cup of chicken broth.
