Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add milk, mixing until just combined and a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, gently knead a few times, then pat or roll to a 1-inch thickness.
- Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a floured glass and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with a little extra milk and bake for 8-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
