Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Slice each chicken breast horizontally to create two thinner cutlets, then season both sides with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then sear the chicken cutlets for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Pour half of the marinara sauce into the prepared baking dish, arrange the seared chicken on top, and cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
- Sprinkle both mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses generously over the chicken.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.
Serving
- Let the Chicken Parmesan rest for a few minutes before serving hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
