Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Slice each chicken breast horizontally to create two thinner cutlets, then season both sides with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then sear the chicken cutlets for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  2. Pour half of the marinara sauce into the prepared baking dish, arrange the seared chicken on top, and cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
  3. Sprinkle both mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses generously over the chicken.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.
Serving
  1. Let the Chicken Parmesan rest for a few minutes before serving hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken in Italian dressing for 30 minutes before cooking. Serve with your favorite pasta or a side salad.
