Ingredients

Stir Fry
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 carrots thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • green onions sliced, for garnish

Equipment

  • large skillet or wok
  • small bowl

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, cornstarch, and water to create the stir-fry sauce.
  2. Prepare your vegetables: chop the broccoli into florets, thinly slice the carrots, and slice the bell pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until it is browned and cooked through.
  2. Drain any excess grease from the skillet, then add the prepared broccoli and carrots. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes, or until they are slightly tender-crisp.
  3. Add the sliced bell pepper to the skillet and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour the prepared stir-fry sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
  5. Remove from heat and serve immediately over rice or noodles.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for added flavor and presentation.

Notes

Feel free to customize this stir fry with your favorite vegetables, such as snap peas, mushrooms, or cabbage. Adjust the amount of honey or ginger to your taste. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the sauce.
