Preparation
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl, tossing to ensure they are evenly coated with the marinade.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes, to allow the flavors to meld.
Grilling
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated shrimp onto the soaked skewers, typically 4-5 shrimp per skewer.
- Place the shrimp skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Remove the grilled shrimp skewers from the grill and serve immediately.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade. You can also add bell peppers or cherry tomatoes to the skewers for a more colorful presentation.
