Method
Prepare the Dough
- Combine flour and salt in a large bowl, then gradually add warm water while mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead and Rest the Dough
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Prepare the Filling
- In a separate bowl, mix shredded cabbage, ground pork, green onions, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Assemble the Dumplings
- Roll the rested dough into a thin log and cut into small pieces, then flatten each piece into a circular wrapper.
Fill and Seal
- Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each wrapper, then fold and crimp the edges to seal and form the dumpling.
Cook the Dumplings
- Boil a pot of water, then carefully add the dumplings and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.
Serve
- Serve the cooked cabbage dumplings hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra flavor, lightly sauté the cabbage before mixing it with the other filling ingredients. Ensure the dough is well-rested for easier handling and a chewier texture. Do not overcrowd the pot when boiling dumplings.
