Preparation
  1. Preheat your waffle iron to the desired setting and lightly grease it if necessary.
Making the Batter
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the waffles light and fluffy.
Cooking the Waffles
  1. Pour about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of batter onto the preheated waffle iron, or as directed by your iron's manufacturer.
