Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 4 chicken pieces thighs or drumsticks
  • 6 cloves garlic cloves finely minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For Garnish (Optional)
  • sesame seeds
  • green onions sliced

Equipment

  • medium bowl
  • whisk
  • baking dish
  • oven

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl, ensuring they are fully coated with the marinade; let them marinate for at least 15 minutes, or preferably for 30 minutes to an hour in the refrigerator.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Arrange the marinated chicken in the prepared baking dish in a single layer.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. For a crispier skin, you can broil the chicken for the last 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
Serving
  1. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  2. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired, and serve warm with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. This recipe pairs well with rice and steamed vegetables.
