Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 14.75 oz canned salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, for frying

Equipment

  • medium bowl
  • large non-stick skillet
  • spatula

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the drained and flaked salmon, egg, bread crumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, fresh dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix the ingredients well until they are evenly combined, ensuring that the salmon is thoroughly broken apart and incorporated.
  3. Divide the mixture into 7 equal portions and flatten each portion into a patty, about 1-inch thick, shaping them firmly so they hold their form.
Cooking
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat until shimmering, then carefully place the salmon patties into the hot oil.
  2. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and heated through, turning them once with a spatula.
Serving Suggestions
  1. Serve the salmon patties immediately with a squeeze of fresh lemon, tartar sauce, or a side salad for a complete meal.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce to the mixture. These patties are also great served on slider buns with your favorite toppings.
